It fits!!

Here is what I thought I would be bringing with me in my one suitcase weighing under 50 pounds:

Notice how I thought that rolling every article of clothing would somehow make it fit.  However, after trying my absolute best to stuff it all into that one suitcase, I grudgingly came to the resolution that it was not physically possible.

That's when my mom came in.  The above pile, basically consisting of my entire closet, was consolidated to the max.  Here's what didn't make the cut:

It's pretty amusing that I thought that stuff would fit too.

To make a long story short, though, I am all packed!  My closed suitcase now weighs 43 pounds.  I must admit that it originally weighed 41, but as soon as I realized that I was 9 pounds under the weight limit, of course I tried to fit some extra shirts in every nook and cranny.  I stopped at 43 so I can leave room for souvenirs, of course.

So that's it!  My flight takes off at 8:55 P.M. tomorrow.  I'm so excited to start my adventure!  And might I add that I'm extremely relieved that the most I will be seen re-wearing the same outfit will be 3 times in 6 weeks.  Not too shabby.  Thanks, Mom!
